First of all, visit the official website of UIDAI, uidai.gov.in.
On the homepage, go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ section.
Select the ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ option here.
Log in with your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
Select the ‘Address Update’ option and fill in your new address correctly.
Upload a clear copy of the document required for the new address.
Check all the information carefully and submit your request.
How long does it take, and what should you keep in mind
After submitting the online request, UIDAI checks the documents and information uploaded by you. This process usually takes 7 to 10 working days. After submitting the request, you will get a URN (Update Request Number),through which you can check the status of your application.
If your application is approved, you can download your new e-Aadhaar from the UIDAI portal. While changing the address, it is important to ensure that your mobile number is linked with Aadhaar so that you can receive the OTP. Also, fill in the address carefully, and the scanned copy of the document should be clear and valid. This service usually attracts a fee of ₹50, which is non-refundable.
