New Delhi: The central government is running several excellent schemes to strengthen farmers’ finances, which offer significant benefits. The government has also provided significant relief by reducing GST on renewable energy equipment. Following this decision, installing solar pumps under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has become significantly cheaper.
Farmers can benefit by installing solar pumps at affordable prices. The central government has decided to reduce the GST rate on renewable energy devices from 12% to 5%. This direct reduction has reduced the total cost of solar systems by approximately 7%. This is directly impacting the pockets of both the common man and farmers. Farmers in Banswara district, Rajasthan, are experiencing significant enthusiasm.
Farmers will receive significant benefits.
According to officials from the Agriculture Department, if a farmer installs a 5-horsepower solar pump under the scheme, the GST reduction will easily save up to ₹17,500 on the pump’s cost. For a 3 HP pumper, this income will result in a reduction of approximately ₹4,000 in the farmer’s share.
The Horticulture Commissionerate has also issued an order in this regard. This order details how much money will be provided to farmers in each category, as well as how much the government will contribute. It also states that the benefits of the scheme will be disbursed after September 22nd. The central government announced a reduction in GST rates last month.
Important Information Provided to Farmers
According to Dal Singh Garasiya, Deputy Director of the Industries Department, the department’s guidelines have also been issued. Implementation began as soon as the order was issued. This information is also being shared with farmers. This will enable more farmers to benefit.
The government is also working to provide the benefit of GST reduction in this scheme, which proves to be a public welfare measure. Farmers will now be able to access solar pumps at affordable prices.
