7th Pay Commission: Good news has come for the employees of the center. Soon there may be an increase in dearness allowance as the report says that dearness allowance has reached 57.47 percent. According to the trends, there can be a jump of 3 percent in dearness allowance, at present the figures of two months have not come but it is known that the DA of the employees will increase.
Under the 7th Pay Commission, a 3 percent increase in DA is possible. Let us tell you that the central government has announced the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, but it has not been formed yet. Therefore, the employees of the center are currently taking salary on the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. Whose duration is till December 2025.
Pay Commission is a committee which has experts from finance, salary, economy and human resources. The commission studies many aspects including the salary of employees, pension of retired employees. This includes many factors including inflation, country’s economic condition. The commission not only increases the salary of employees but also makes recommendations regarding inflation, transport, medical and housing. Recommendations are also made for improving working conditions and training of employees, however, the government is not bound to implement the recommendations of the commission.
How much was the salary increased?
In the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor was kept at 2.57. On the basis of which the basic salary of the employees was 7000 which was increased to 18000. Similarly, the minimum pension was also increased. After the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, the maximum salary reached 2.25 lakhs. In the 8th Pay Commission, the fitment factor of your salary can be between 2.28 to 2.86 and if this happens, the basic salary can increase from 41 thousand to 51 thousand 480 rupees. The minimum amount of pension can increase from 9 thousand to 25 thousand 740 rupees.
The percentage of salary hike is determined on the basis of this factor. Fitment factor is a formula which is used for salary and pension hike. Changes are also made in this formula from time to time. Employees also keep demanding to increase the fitment factor. This time they are demanding to keep the fitment factor more than 3. Let us tell you that the first pay commission was formed in 1946 when the basic salary was fixed at Rs 55 and the maximum salary at Rs 2 thousand.
