7th Pay Commission: Government employees are in for a treat. Before Diwali, the government has approved a 2% increase in their DA, bringing much excitement to everyone’s faces. This announcement was made by the Odisha government.
A major announcement has been made to provide financial relief to employees of the state’s public sector undertakings (PSUs). Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced this increase just before Diwali. This is being considered a booster dose for employees. This will provide relief from inflation and a significant salary increase. Learn the important details below.
How much will the DA increase be?
The DA for Odisha PSU employees has been increased to 55%. Previously, employees were receiving 53% DA. The increased DA rates will be effective from January 1, 2025. This decision by the state government is expected to benefit approximately 8.5 lakh state government employees and pensioners.
How much was the DA increased previously?
According to a report, the increased DA is expected to be distributed in cash along with the salary. This will ensure that employees receive their arrears for previous months. It should be noted that earlier, the Odisha government had announced a 3% increase in dearness allowance for government employees in October 2024, after which the DA increased from 50% to 53%.
