BE 6 and XEV 9e: Mahindra is making intelligent updates in its electric range by introducing lower-priced long-range variants. The development brings high-power 79kWh battery choices to lower trims, providing customers more range without shelling out for top variants. The update is already generating excitement among electric SUV enthusiasts seeking performance and value in one.

Bigger Battery, Better Value

Mahindra has now introduced the BE 6 and XEV 9e Pack Two models with a 79kWh battery pack. Previously, the same battery option was limited to the highest Pack Three trims. By doing so, the company is providing more options to customers looking for increased range at the expense of premium features.

Both the SUVs now come with two battery packs, 59kWh and 79kWh. The jump to the 79kWh variant adds additional kilometers without escalating to the topmost variant.

Price Difference Between 59kWh and 79kWh Variants

The BE 6 Pack Two version with the 79kWh battery is ₹23.5 lakh (ex-showroom), ₹1.6 lakh higher than the 59kWh version available for ₹21.9 lakh.

The same goes for XEV 9e Pack Two with a 79kWh battery, which is priced at ₹26.5 lakh, and the 59kWh variant, which costs ₹24.9 lakh. Yes, the pricing does leap by ₹1.6 lakh, but the larger range and cost-saving of not purchasing the top variant make it a good bargain.

How Much You Save Compared to Top Variant

Mahindra’s revised pricing makes the extended-range BE 6 Pack Two variant ₹3.4 lakh less expensive than the flagship Pack Three model. For the XEV 9e, the difference is even greater — ₹4 lakh less than its flagship model.

These reduced prices for higher-range variants will appeal to customers who desire performance without shelling out extra money for additional features they might not require.

Claimed Driving Range Boost

The BE 6 comes with a 79kWh battery that promises a driving range of 683 kilometers, which is 126 kilometers longer than the 59kWh model.

XEV 9e with the larger battery provides 656 kilometers range, providing an additional 114 kilometers compared to its base variant. This long range is ideal for long road trips and infrequent charging.

Delivery and Booking Update

Until now, Mahindra had only begun delivering the Pack Three top trims. The company now has official confirmation that deliveries of the Pack Two mid variants for both BE 6 and XEV 9e will start before the end of July 2025.

Additionally, existing customers in the waiting phase can upgrade to the 79kWh Pack Two variant if they need more range without opting for the top model.
