Bank Holiday August 2026: Bank customers should plan ahead for August 2026, as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has scheduled 14 days of bank holidays for this month. These holidays will affect branches of all public and private banks, including SBI, HDFC, and ICICI. The closures will occur on various days, including Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, state festivals, and regional celebrations.

Despite the physical bank branches being closed, digital services like UPI, NEFT, RTGS, Internet Banking, and Mobile Banking will remain operational 24×7 as usual during this period.

– August 15: Nationwide bank holiday for Independence Day and Parsi New Year (Shahanshahi).

– August 19: Agartala banks closed for Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur Jayanti.

Online banking services will not be affected, ensuring that customers can continue using digital platforms for money transfers, bill payments, and online transactions around the clock. However, certain offline services like RTGS conducted through bank branches will not be available on holidays.
