Ayushman Card: Obtaining an Ayushman Card has become simpler than ever with the introduction of an official WhatsApp chatbot named Ayushman Sarathi by the central government. This chatbot enables individuals to access a variety of services related to the Ayushman Bharat scheme directly through WhatsApp, eliminating the need to visit government offices or Common Service Centers (CSCs) for minor tasks.
Developed by the National Health Authority (NHA), Ayushman Sarathi aims to provide round-the-clock digital services to the public, enabling easy access to essential services associated with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) from the comfort of their homes. Tasks such as creating a new Ayushman card, downloading the card, verifying eligibility, completing eKYC, and more can be conveniently completed using this chatbot.
Here’s how to obtain an Ayushman Card through WhatsApp:
1. Save the official Ayushman Sarathi WhatsApp number +91 72908 23838 on your mobile.
2. Send “Hi” or “Hello” to this number via WhatsApp.
3. Choose the option to Create Ayushman Card or the relevant one provided by the chatbot.
4. Provide your mobile number, Aadhaar, or other necessary details.
5. Verify your identity through OTP.
6. If eligible, complete the required eKYC process.
7. Once the process is finished, your Ayushman Card will be ready for download.
Please be aware that in certain cases, the system may need to verify the information before issuing the card.
In addition to creating Ayushman Cards, the new chatbot also assists in tasks such as checking eligibility, downloading a pre-generated Ayushman Card, redoing eKYC, linking Aadhaar, locking or unlocking the card, accessing treatment records, and finding details about the nearest empanelled hospital. Individuals aged 70 and above can also benefit from services related to the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card. By offering these services through popular platforms like WhatsApp, the government aims to enhance the accessibility of the scheme to millions of individuals, particularly those residing in rural and remote areas.
