Yamaha has launched its popular street bike, the 2025 MT-15 V2.0, in India with new upgrades. This time, the bike comes with several modern features specifically targeted at young people. The new Yamaha MT-15 is priced starting at ₹1.75 lakh for the standard version, while the DLX variant is priced over ₹1.75 lakh, ex-showroom.

Now with a Smart TFT Display

The 2025 Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 DLX version now features a new TFT display, which includes turn-by-turn navigation. This is the same display that previously came on the Yamaha R15M. This display will not only make riding easier but will also provide important information through smartphone connectivity.

Major Changes to the Y-Connect App

The bike now connects to Yamaha’s Y-Connect mobile app via Bluetooth. The app has added several new and useful features, such as maintenance recommendations, parking locations, fuel consumption data, fault information, an engine rev dashboard, and a rider ranking system. These new features further advance the bike’s technology.

Engine Power and Performance

No mechanical changes have been made to the bike’s engine. It still comes with the same 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. This engine produces 18.14 bhp of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch. The bike now also comes with traction control and dual-channel ABS, further improving its safety.

New Color Options Also Included

Yamaha has added two new color options to give the bike a fresh and youthful look this time around. These include Ice Storm and Vivid Violet Metallic. Both new shades will be available on the DLX version and sold alongside the existing Metallic Black color. The standard version will also now feature a new Metallic Silver Cyan color.

Competitor and Expectation

The bike weighs 141 kg, giving it a good power-to-weight ratio. The MT-15 competes directly with bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Speaking at the launch, Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India, said, “The MT-15 Version 2.0 has created a strong identity for itself with its aggressive styling, performance, and everyday convenience.

Ever since we introduced the TFT display and turn-by-turn navigation in the R15M, there has been a consistent demand for such technology from MT-15 users. This new update for 2025 reflects our commitment to enhancing the riding experience with youthful design and technology.”
