Following the success of its premium electric cars (VF 6 and VF 7), the company is now set to conquer the hearts of middle-class families in India with three powerful electric scooters: the Evo, Feliz, and Viper.

According to the media reports, these scooters will be assembled at its plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, making them highly competitive and likely to challenge established giants like Ola and Ather.
Expected Prices and Variants in India
VinFast, recognizing the pulse of Indian consumers, has decided to offer its scooters in different segments to provide a better option for customers of all budgets. The company’s most affordable model is expected to be the VinFast Evo, with an expected ex-showroom price of ₹80,000 to ₹100,000, making it a strong contender in the budget segment.
The mid-range model will be the VinFast Feliz, expected to be priced around ₹95,000 to ₹105,000, while the most premium and powerful model will be the VinFast Viper, expected to cost between ₹1.55 lakh and ₹1.65 lakh. Notably, VinFast may also introduce a ‘battery subscription’ model, which could further reduce the scooter’s starting price, which would be a significant relief for customers.
VinFast Evo
The VinFast Evo is specifically designed for those who seek classic retro looks, combined with powerful performance and long range. This scooter will rival the Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta, powered by a powerful 2.4 kWh LFP battery that powers a hub-mounted motor. In narrow city streets and heavy traffic, this scooter offers a premium riding experience thanks to its unwavering agility and lightweight weight of just 110 kg. Its top speed is around 70 km/h, and the company claims a range of 165 km (under standard conditions) on a single charge, making it a great choice for daily office or college commutes.
VinFast Feliz and Viper
Both the Feliz and Viper are sleek ‘underbone’ style scooters known for their steely strength and large 14-inch alloy wheels. Keeping in mind the deep potholes and high speed breakers on Indian roads, VinFast has equipped them with a robust suspension setup that absorbs shocks with steely ease.
The Feliz features a 3 kWh battery and a 2.8 kW motor, providing excellent pickup even on steep inclines, while the Viper will be VinFast’s most powerful model, featuring a massive 4.8 kWh battery and a 3 kW peak motor. The Viper will have a top speed of between 70-80 km/h, and its robust battery life makes it a reliable companion for long-distance travel, capable of covering over 150 km on a single charge.
Production will move from the Tamil Nadu plant
VinFast has made it clear that it will not only do business in India but will also assemble these scooters using CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits at its state-of-the-art plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The biggest benefit of this significant move will be lower manufacturing costs and customers will not have to run around for service and spare parts.
In the future, the company plans to manufacture 100% locally, making these scooters completely ‘Made in India’ and offering exceptional durability. Keeping in mind the scorching heat of the Indian climate and the brutal monsoon rains, the company is also making special changes to the battery cooling system to ensure both safety and longevity.
