TVS is preparing to launch its new affordable electric scooter in India. This scooter will be priced below the popular TVS iQube. With its entry-level positioning, it will target customers looking for budget-friendly electric mobility. The launch is scheduled for 28 August 2025, right before the festive season, which can boost its demand in the market.

Price and Positioning

Currently, the TVS iQube is sold in India with prices starting at around ₹1 lakh and going up to ₹1.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming TVS Orbiter will be priced below this range. With an expected price tag of under ₹1 lakh, Orbiter will become the company’s most affordable electric scooter. This aggressive pricing will place it directly against the Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 X in the growing EV segment.

Designed to Compete with Ola and Bajaj

TVS aims to capture a wider audience with the Orbiter. Positioned below the iQube, it is expected to attract first-time EV buyers. Ola S1 X and Bajaj Chetak already dominate the entry-level space, but with Orbiter’s lower price, TVS is confident of making a strong impact. The scooter is being introduced at a strategic time to challenge Ola, which has recently gained attention in this category.

Festive Season Advantage

The launch of TVS Orbiter just before the festive season is a calculated move. In India, festivals are considered the peak time for two-wheeler sales. Automakers generally witness a rise in demand as customers prefer buying new vehicles during this period. With its lower price and new design, TVS expects the Orbiter to perform strongly in the festive market.

Style and Features

Design sketches and patents suggest that TVS Orbiter may feature a premium and modern look. The scooter is expected to include sleek LED daytime running lights, a square-shaped LED headlamp, LED taillights, a visor, and a dual-tone paint scheme. It may also come with front disc brakes, larger wheels, and a swingarm-mounted motor. These features point towards a stylish yet practical scooter for urban buyers.
