No decision on satellite toll

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has clearly stated that they have not taken any such decision related to the satellite toll system. The ministry said that the ‘ANPR-Fastag Best Barrier-Equipped Tolling System’ will be installed at certain places to allow vehicles to pass through the toll plaza without stopping. This system will collect tolls from both number plate and Fastag, but it will not be implemented across the country right now but will be started at select locations as a pilot project.

How will this new system work

Let us tell you that the government is looking for a way to ensure the movement of vehicles at toll plazas without any interruption. Under this, new ANPR-FASTag Best the Barrier-Equipped Tolling System will be started in India. This system will be installed only at some toll plazas right now. This new system is a mixture of two technologies. The first is called Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology system. This technology identifies the vehicle by reading the number plate. The second is the Fastag system, which works on Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID). By combining these two, a system has been designed that will make toll collection even easier and faster.

Hi-tech cameras will make work easier

ANPR-FASTag Best Barrier-Equipped with Tolling System will now have excellent cameras installed in it. These tremendous cameras will recognize the number plates of every vehicles. Also, Fastag readers will be installed, which will scan the Fastag. This will eliminate the need for vehicles to stop at the toll plaza. The ministry has also clarified that if a vehicle does not pay the toll, it will be sent an e-notice. Its FASTags can also be cancelled and a fine can also be imposed. In such a situation, users must pay the toll, otherwise they may face trouble.
