India’s automobile market is going to see a tremendous stir in 2026. Two big German brands like Skoda and Volkswagen are set to bring a new wave to the industry with the launch of four new premium cars next year. These cars are being built on the MQB A0 IN platform, which is designed specifically for India. It will cost between 10 lakh and 15 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), making these cars a premium option for mid-range buyers.
New facelifted versions of Skoda Kushaq and Slavia
Let me tell you that Skoda has officially confirmed that in 2026 it is going to launch two of its most popular models Kushaq and Slavia facelift versions in India. Both cars will offer a more attractive look and modern design than before.

The glimpse of the new Kushaq and Taigun has been seen in spy shots several times during testing. Changes will be made to the front radiator grille, lower grille, headlight and taillight design in the new version. Also, bumpers will also appear in new style.
Volkswagen, Taigun and Virtus
Skoda as well as Volkswagen will also launch facelift versions of their two cars Taigun and Virtus next year. The first of these Taigun’s entry is expected in the first quarter of 2026, while Virtus will be launched by mid-2026.
The special thing is that Virtus is already the best-selling sedan of its segment, so Volkswagen is not in a hurry to update it immediately. The new Virtus and Slavia will see minor design changes, along with 16-inch new alloy wheels.
Interior
It is less likely to see a change in its interior, but it is expected that these cars will now have a 10.25-inch full digital instrument cluster, which is already available in international models. In addition, cars will again see touch-operated climate control systems.

In the new facelift version, the company can also offer panoramic sunroofs, which are not yet offered in the models. This feature will attract a lot of youth especially and the car’s appeal will increase further in this segment.
Safety Features
Skoda and Volkswagen have always been reliable in terms of security. The new facelift version is expected to feature features such as 360° camera system and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). In addition, the quality of the reverse camera will also be improved so that both driving and parking can become more safe.
Engine
Let me tell you that not much changes will be made mechanically. The new Kushaq, Slavia, Taigun and Virtus will feature the same old but powerful 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter TSI turbo petrol engines. The transmission option will be found as a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic torque converter, and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) gearbox.
