Jimny: Maruti Suzuki is in the news again with a tempting cash discount on its Jimny SUV. Jimny made the brand outshine even Mercedes-Benz in Japan with solid sales, whereas its demand has been moderate in India. Now, to push sales, Maruti is now giving ₹70,000 off from Nexa showrooms, despite this being less than its previous ₹1 lakh discount. Jimny’s base ex-showroom price is ₹12.76 lakh. The firm hopes that this new proposal will get more Indian consumers to a vehicle that has left a mark all over the world.
Jimny Engine and Performance
Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15B mild-hybrid petrol engine churning out 105 hp of power and 134 Nm of maximum torque. It is offered with the choice of a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. This configuration facilitates robust off-road capability, the fundamental focus of Jimny which attracts adventure enthusiasts.
Jimny Technology
The SUV is loaded with comfort features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, day and night IRVM, power window on driver side with pinch guard, and reclining front seats. It comes with a multifunction steering wheel with mounted controls, TFT color display, and adjustable front and rear seat headrests. Welded front and rear tow hooks are also available in Jimny, which prove to be useful in bad road conditions.
