Ford Bronco EV Offers: Ford has shocked electric vehicle enthusiasts with the unveiling of its all-new Bronco New Energy SUV. This robust EV is equipped with top-notch features, good power, and a surprise feature—its battery can also be charged via a petrol engine when need arises. Let us dig deeper into this EV’s power, range, and tech in easy terms.
Two Power Options in One SUV
Ford Bronco New Energy comes in two different configurations. One is a pure electric version (EV), and the second is an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV). The EREV model is equipped with a petrol engine, but not for propelling the vehicle, but for powering the battery when required. This implies no anxiety even when charging points are distant.
EV Version Provides Powerful Range and Speed
The electric variant of Bronco New Energy has a double motor configuration with all-wheel drive. The front motor produces 177hp and the rear motor provides 275hp, totaling to 311hp. Its top speed is 170 km/h. It has a big 105.4kWh LFP blade battery from BYD. The company boasts a range of up to 650 km (according to CLTC standards). It also features ADAS support and has a LiDAR unit on the windshield for better safety systems.
EREV Version Offers Best of Both Worlds
This model also features a 177hp front engine and a 245hp rear engine. It features a 1.5-litre petrol engine that develops 150hp. This engine is not used to power the vehicle but only to charge the battery. The battery capacity is 43.7kWh, which provides an electric-only range of 220 km. But with petrol and battery combined, the overall driving range is increased to 1,220 km. This model has a weight of 2,510 kg.
Launch and Availability
The Bronco New Energy will initially be launched in China, as a collaborative effort by Ford and Jiangling Motors. But considering its features and special design, it can possibly launch in other markets across the world later on. Currently, Ford does not have any presence of cars in India, but there has been a rumor about returning through its Everest SUV.
What It Means for India
Although this EV is not arriving in India as of now, it points towards a future direction. Maruti Suzuki is already developing identical EREV tech, which would become available in affordable electric vehicles in the nation in the near future. Cars such as Bronco New Energy indicate how gasoline can still be of assistance in EV technology.
Ford Bronco New Energy Can Set a New Trend
For customers who need an EV but are concerned about charging, there’s a wise solution provided by Ford Bronco New Energy. With a fuel-based battery charge option and strong performance, it may revolutionize the way people perceive electric vehicles. It blends current technology with sensible thought, and thus it’s a trendsetter in the EV space.
