Maruti Suzuki’s premium hatchback, the Baleno, has always been in high demand in the Indian market. Its popularity can be gauged from its sales, where over 12,549 customers purchased it in August 2025. Now, with the new GST regulations, this car has become even more attractive. With the new GST rate of 18% coming into effect from September 22, 2025, customers can save between ₹57,000 and ₹85,000 on the Baleno. New Prices of Maruti Baleno (After GST Reduction)

The discounts available on various variants of the Maruti Baleno are as follows: The Sigma MT variant is available with a savings of ₹57,000, bringing its new price to ₹6.17 lakh. The Zeta MT is available for ₹7.08 lakh after a ₹66,000 discount. The Zeta AMT is available for ₹7.55 lakh after a ₹69,000 savings, bringing its price down to ₹7.55 lakh. The Zeta CNG variant is available with a massive ₹80,000 savings, bringing its price down to ₹8.23 lakh. The biggest benefit is on the Alpha AMT, where after a ₹85,000 savings, its new price is ₹9.11 lakh.

Maruti Baleno Features and Technology

The Baleno’s interior is very premium, packed with stylish design and modern features. It comes with premium features like a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, an Arkamys-tuned sound system, voice commands, and a Heads-up Display (HUD). Additionally, automatic climate control, cruise control, push-button start/stop, keyless entry, hill hold assist, and a 360-degree camera are also provided.

Engine, Performance, and Mileage

The Baleno is powered by a 1.2-liter K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine that produces 88 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT (automatic). A CNG variant is also available. The Baleno’s fuel economy is unmatched. According to ARAI, the petrol variants’ fuel efficiency ranges from 22.35 to 22.94 kmpl, while the CNG variants’ fuel efficiency is up to 30.61 km/kg.

Safety is also top-notch

In terms of safety, all Baleno variants come standard with six airbags. Additionally, it also includes features like ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and three-point seatbelts. The Baleno recently achieved a 4-star rating in the India NCAP crash test, making it a safe car for families.
