Mahindra XUV 3XO vs Tata Nexon : Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon good contenders: Both vehicles come with modern style, high safety credentials, and great value. However, they offer different driving experiences and strengths. We’re batting XUV 3XO and Nexon into each other to see which one’s fit for your needs.

Safety and Build Quality

Both SUVs come with a 5-star rating in safety as awarded by Bharat NCAP for adult and child safety. The XUV 3XO scored up to 29.36 of the 32 for adults and has rated 43 for the protection of children. Tata Nexon nearly closes that gap rating 29.41 for adults but higher at 43.83 for children safety. Strong crashworthiness and standard six airbags put both on the same footing in that they are both safe and trustable family vehicles.

Engine Options and Fuel Efficiency

At least four engine options are available from the XUV 3XO. Two of these petrol turbo engines have power outputs of 111 hp and 131 hp; the diesel engine is a 1.5-litre engine with 115 PS and 300 Nm torque. There are also many transmission options: it is manual, torque-converter automatic, and often an automated manual, depending on the variant. The fuel efficiency varies between 18 to 21 kmpl depending on the engine and transmission.

Tata Nexon sustains its brilliant 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines that only offer a 6-speed AMT and dual-clutch in high ends while mirroring mileage in a comparable range. Hence, both cars present an offering, but XUV 3XO receives a slightly more potent petrol pair maximized for overtaking performance.

Space, Comfort & Features

XUV 3XO brings itself into a style makeover, features a large panoramic sunroof, and dual 10.25-inch digital screens, a cooled glovebox, wireless charger, ADAS features such as forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise, and brings the feel of an upmarket cabin. The boot space is 364 litres, and it stands tall with a wide stance.

The Tata Nexon also offers premium features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated seats, digital cluster, keyless operation, and air purifier in higher trims. Its cabin is spacious with generous headroom and good rear legroom even due to well-thought-out design. Nexon’s boot is slightly larger, and rear seat comfort is widely appreciated.

From reviews and experiences shared by users, XUV 3XO drives confidently at high speeds with stable handling, compliant suspension, and acceptably large high-speed braking. However, users find that thigh support for rear seats does not sit well and long-haul comfort is not as strong. Contrastingly, Tata Nexon is praised highly for rear seat comfort and much more usable cabin space for passenger travel on long journeys.

Mahindra XUV 3XO is one-upping with sharper performance, strong torque, modern ADAS traits, and aggressive styling at a lower price. Regarding rear passenger comfort, general refinement, good resale value, and a more spacious cabin and boot, the Tata Nexon would be considered a safer all-rounder. Both are amazing cars—so it should be test-driven first to find out what best fits you.
