PM Kisan Yojana- A very good news for farmers. The 20th installment of PM Kisan will come on August 2. Yes, finally the wait of 9.7 crore farmers across the country is over. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer a total of Rs 20,500 crore to the accounts of beneficiary farmers of PM Kisan Yojana on August 2, 2025.

PM Modi will release the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme worth Rs 20,500 crore in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on August 2. This will benefit 9.7 crore farmers across the country. The government’s flagship direct benefit transfer scheme was introduced in 2019. So far, Rs 3.69 lakh crore has been transferred directly to the accounts of farmers through 19 installments under this program.

The Agriculture Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday (July 30), “The next installment of PM-Kisan will be released on August 2. In the 20th installment, an amount of about Rs 20,500 crore will be transferred to 9.7 crore farmers. The Prime Minister will release this installment during a special program organized in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan held a preparatory meeting at Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi to review the preparations for this program . Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi, Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research Dr. M.L. Jat and other senior officials of the Agriculture Ministry were present in the meeting.

What is PM Kisan Yojana?

Under the PM-Kisan scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each which are directly credited into their bank accounts. The initiative aims to provide financial support to small and marginal farmer families who own cultivable land. Farmers have to complete their e-KYC process to receive the 20th installment.

Also, it has to be ensured that their ‘Aadhaar’ is linked to their bank account and accurate land records are maintained. This scheme has emerged as one of the major welfare initiatives of the government. It provides vital financial assistance to farmer families in rural India.

How to apply for PM Kisan Yojana

-First go to pmkisan.gov.in.
-Then click on “New Farmer Registration”.
-Then fill in your personal details.
-Now fill in bank account details.
-Submit land records.
-Verify with OTP on registered mobile number.
