Mahindra is once again ready to make a splash in the Indian electric car market. The company has officially announced the name of its new and largest electric SUV to date, the Mahindra XEV 9S. This SUV will be unveiled at the Scream Electric Event in Bengaluru on November 27, 2025. With this launch, Mahindra will be adding another flagship model to its Born Electric range, positioned above the XEV 9e SUV Coupe.

Launch Details
First of all, Mahindra has confirmed that the grand launch of the XEV 9S Electric SUV will take place on 27 November 2025. It is expected that sales of this luxurious SUV will be started from January 2026. The company can introduce this car slowly in India as well as in the global market.
Price
New Mahindra XEV 9S is built on the INGLO Born Electric Platform, which already supports the XEV 9e and BE 6 SUV Coupe. In India, this SUV will be offered as a premium electric 7-seater model. It is estimated that its X-showroom price can be between ₹23 lakh to ₹33 lakh.
Power and range
Mahindra XEV 9S can have the same battery options that are available in XEV 9e. 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery pack. While the base model will come in RWD (Rear Wheel Drive), the top variant can offer the Dual-Motor AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system.
This SUV will be able to deliver a range of about 450 to 500 kilometers in a single charge. It will also get advanced charging technology like Fast Charging, V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle), which makes it even more future-ready.
Design
Talking about design. the look of the Mahindra XEV 9S will be largely similar to the XUV700, but it will have some EV-Exclusive changes. The front of this SUV features Closed-Off Grille, Full-Width LED Light Bar, and Inverted L-Shaped DRLs, giving it a futuristic look. LED Connected Tail-Lights and Aero-Optimised Alloy Wheels in the rear make it more stylish.
Interior
The cabin of the Mahindra XEV 9S will look no less than a futuristic spaceship. It will be given a Triple Screen Dashboard with all three 12.3-inch display, used for Infotainment, Driver Cluster, and Passenger Display.

The SUV will feature a Two-Spoke Steering Wheel, AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display), Multi-Zone Climate Control, and 16-Speaker Harman Kardon Sound System, equipped with Dolby Atmos.
Talking about features, it will offer premium safety features like Panoramic Sunroof or Fixed Glass Roof, Level 2+ ADAS, 360-Degree Camera, Front & Rear Parking Sensors, and In-Built Dash Cam.
