Mahindra Vision S Concept
Mahindra introduced the Vision S concept at its Freedom NU event along with Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT. But among all these, Vision S seemed to be the most practical and road-ready SUV. Not too futuristic, not just a showpiece but an SUV that is made to reach the showroom directly.
Looking at the design of the Vision S, it feels like Mahindra wants to position it below the Scorpio N. That is, the size is a little compact, the price is a little low, but the attitude is completely Scorpio. Its production version is expected to go on sale in 2027 and this timeline also connects to Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform.

Platform
Let us tell you that Mahindra’s upcoming Vision S SUV will be based on the company’s new NU_IQ monocoque platform. This is the same platform on which Mahindra is going to build many of its new SUVs in the coming years. The biggest feature of this architecture is its flexibility.
The NU_IQ platform is designed in such a way that SUVs of different body styles, powertrains and sizes can be built on it. Petrol, diesel and electric options in the future have been kept possible. Mahindra has already made it clear that its first NU_IQ based production model will come around 2027, and Vision S derived SUV is at the forefront of this race.
Design
Talking about the design, let us tell you that the heavily camouflaged SUV seen in the Spy shots was earlier considered to be the next-gen Bolero. But on closer inspection, its squared stance, short overhangs and tailgate-mounted spare wheel clearly point to the Scorpio inspired design.
This SUV will definitely look compact, but will not look less than anyone in road presence. Boxy design, upright posture and muscular body panels will give it a proper SUV look, not just an urban crossover feel. Mahindra clearly wants to make an emotional connect here – the same rugged image that comes to mind when you hear the name Scorpio.

Interior
Spy shots have revealed some key details of the cabin. The interior is entirely focused on practicality, which is a hallmark of Mahindra SUVs. Grab handles for rear passengers, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a color MID, and a large panoramic sunroof – all these features clearly indicate that the company is also paying close attention to comfort and a modern feel.

The cabin design will be functional rather than flashy, ensuring the SUV is perfect for both daily use and long drives. The frequent sightings of test mules also suggest that the project has moved beyond the early experimentation phase and is now in the advanced validation stage.
