Bajaj Chetak: Bajaj has officially released the Chetak 3001, a major move in the electric scooter industry. As the most budget-friendly option in its segment, the Chetak 3001 comes at a competitive price with functionalities that marry the day-to-day usability of a traditional scooter with cutting-edge technology—making it a compelling choice over petrol-burning scooters.
Price and Platform
At ₹99,990 (ex-showroom), the Chetak 3001 is now Bajaj’s cheapest electric scooter. It’s derived from the sophisticated Chetak 35 Series platform, which introduces a number of structural and performance enhancements. The new model replaces the Chetak 2903 and is engineered to address changing Indian commuter requirements.
Battery and Range
The scooter accommodates a 3.0kWh floorboard-mounted battery that provides a whopping certified range of 127 km on a single charge. This placement of the battery not only aids in reducing the center of gravity, enhancing ride stability, but also releases underseat space. Chetak 3001 provides a segment-leading 35-liter boot, which is handy for everyday storage requirements.
Fast Charging Support
Charging is fast and convenient, with support for a 750W charger. It can recharges from 0 to 80% in only 3 hours and 50 minutes, which is one of the fastest among its class. The quick turnaround time makes the scooter extremely convenient for city users who have little time.
Smart Connectivity Features
For those looking for intelligent features, Bajaj provides an optional TecPac that makes riding more experiential. This package consists of features such as call accept/reject, music control, hill hold assist, reverse light, auto-flashing stop lamp, and ‘Guide Me Home’ lights. These features are designed to improve convenience and safety for daily use.
Build and Design
Chetak 3001 is designed to endure varied Indian weather and road conditions. Its steel chassis provides long-term durability, and IP67-rated water and dustproofing provides assurance of comfort during monsoons or dusty rides.
After-Sales Support
With more than 3,800 service touchpoints in India, Bajaj supports the Chetak 3001 with a highly dispersed and accessible network. With such a large presence, ownership and servicing become easier than with newer or lesser-established EV brands.
