Impact of GST 2.0: November 2025 was a significant month for the Indian auto industry. Sales remained strong even after the festive season, and the benefits of the government’s GST 2.0 policy were clearly reflected in sales figures. According to a recent SIAM report, the passenger vehicle, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler segments recorded their highest sales ever in November. Industry experts believe that market sentiment is strong, and this positive trend could continue into 2026.

Passenger vehicle sales increased by nearly 19% in November 2025. A total of 412,405 units were sold this month, up 18.7% from 347,522 units in November last year. Maruti Suzuki India sold 170,971 units, a 21% increase year-on-year. Mahindra sold 56,336 units, a 22% increase. Hyundai wholesale sales increased to 50,340 units, a 4% increase from last year.
Two-wheeler sales also increased by 21%. A total of 1944,475 units were sold in November, up from 1604,749 units in the previous year. Scooter sales saw the highest growth in this segment, rising 29% to 735,753 units. Motorcycle sales increased by 17.5% to 1163,751 units, while moped sales declined by 2% to 44,971 units.

Three-wheeler sales also increased by 21%. A total of 71,999 units were sold in November, exceeding last year’s figures. Demand in this segment continues to grow.
SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon said that the GST 2.0 reform and strong demand following the festivals led to strong growth for the auto industry in November. He stated that all segments, including passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers, recorded their highest sales ever. Experts believe that this growth could continue into 2026, given positive policy support and strong market sentiment.
