Renault has revealed its new and aggressive strategy for the Indian market. Renault is preparing to launch 5 new models in India in the next two years. Not only this, the company has also built a new design studio in the country. This Renault Design Center set up in Chennai is the company’s largest designing studio outside Europe. This move reflects Renault’s deep commitment to the Indian market and raises hopes for some exciting vehicles in the future.

New Duster and 7-seater Bigster

The most interesting thing is that these 5 new models include the new generation Duster and its 7-seater version Bigster. Although diesel engines are unlikely to come in Duster and Bigster, it is expected that Renault will launch the new SUV with a hybrid engine. Renault India Managing Director and CEO Venkatram Mamillapalle has also hinted at the inclusion of hybrid in the lineup. Mamillapalle has confirmed that Renault is keen to explore several options including CNG and hybrid.

The first compact SUV was the Duster

The first Duster was launched in India in 2012, which was India’s first compact SUV. This SUV became very popular at that time. Duster quickly gained a foothold in the Indian market and gained significant market share within a year. After this, many competitors of Duster came into the market. Eventually, Duster was discontinued in 2022, but its return is still awaited.

Know when the new Duster will come

Initially, some models of the new SUV were planned to be launched around Diwali this year. But now the new Duster will come to India in early 2026. The hybrid version of the new generation Duster is expected to arrive in India later in the same year. Renault is selling the third-generation Duster globally, which also has a powerful hybrid variant. This advanced technology will be awaited in the Indian market as well.

Renault will bring a hybrid engine

All upcoming Renault vehicles may have the option of a strong hybrid engine along with petrol. Apart from strong hybrid, Renault is also working on range extender technology, in which a compact internal combustion engine works in conjunction with an electric drivetrain. This technology can help make Renault vehicles even more eco-friendly and economical in the future. This visionary step of Renault can write a new chapter in the Indian automobile market.
