Tulsi Vivah 2025: Tulsi Vivah is considered very special in Hinduism. It is celebrated every year on Dev Uthani Ekadashi or Dwadashi. It is believed that when Lord Vishnu awakens from his yogic sleep, all auspicious events begin.

In fact, Tulsi Vivah is celebrated as the marriage of Mother Tulsi and Shaligram, a form of Lord Vishnu. Performing Tulsi Vivah at home on this day is considered very auspicious and brings the same benefits as Kanyadaan. This year, Tulsi Vivah will be celebrated on November 2nd.

How to prepare for Tulsi Vivah?

Preparations for Tulsi Vivah should be done with utmost devotion and purity. The Tulsi plant should be bathed a day before the ceremony and decorated as a bride the next morning. Tulsi should be offered all sixteen adornments, including a scarf, jewellery, and a bindi.

The necessary materials for the wedding should be collected, including an idol of Lord Shaligram or Lord Vishnu. In addition, lamps, flowers, rice, basil leaves, fragrance, incense, sweets, and Panchamrit should also be included.

How to perform Tulsi Vivah?

  1. A sacred mandap should be prepared for the Tulsi plant.
  2. An idol of Lord Shaligram or Lord Vishnu should be placed next to Tulsi Mata as the groom.
  3. The puja should begin by lighting a lamp in the mandap.
  4. Incense, flowers, and basil leaves should be offered to Mother Tulsi and Lord Vishnu.
  5. After this, the mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya should be chanted.
  6. Auspicious songs should be sung during the wedding, and a coconut and Mangalsutra should be offered to Tulsi Mata.
  7. After the wedding is complete,the  the Tulsi and Shaligram aarti should be performed.
  8. Panchaamrit or Halwa should be distributed as Prasad.
  9. The ritual should be performed with the entire family in a spirit of devotion and joy.
