How is Tulsi Vivah performed?

  1. To perform Tulsi Vivah, a Tulsi plant should be planted in your courtyard, balcony, or near your prayer room.
  2. The pavilion should be decorated with rangoli. Lord Shaligram should be placed to the right of the Tulsi plant.
  3. After this, Mother Tulsi should be offered a scarf, a bindi, and sixteen adornments.
  4. Lord Shaligram should be bathed with Ganga water. Sandalwood should be applied to Shaligram, and roli to Mother Tulsi.
  5. Following this, fruits, flowers, sweets, sugarcane, and Panchamrit should be offered.
  6. However, keep in mind that rice grains are not offered to Lord Shaligram, so that you can provide oil or white sandalwood.
  7. After this, a lamp and incense should be lit. Perform the rounds with Mother Tulsi and Lord Shaligram.
  8. After the wedding, perform the aarti and distribute prasad to everyone.
