A new player is going to take entry in the Indian auto market, and this time the name is JSW Motors. In January 2026, there was news that JSW has partnered with Chery and is preparing to bring the Jetour T2 based SUV to India. Now the first official teaser of this upcoming SUV has been revealed. This SUV will not be just a new model, but JSW Motors’ first offering in India. So let’s tell you from details.
Teaser
Let me tell you that the front profile of the SUV is clearly seen in the teaser. Horizontal LED headlight strips and pixel shaped LED fog lamps are seen inside the round housing. The bonnet is straight and embossed, while the bumpers and wheel arches look strong and wide.
It seems clear to see the design that this SUV closely resembles the Jetour T2. However ORVM means side mirrors are slightly smaller. Also, JSW badge will be replaced by Jetour.

Engine
Jetour T2 is available in both EV and PHEV versions in the international market, but a plug-in hybrid version is expected to be available in India at the moment. It will get a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine that gives 154hp power and 220Nm torque. A battery pack of 26.7kWh will be attached to it.
This setup can come with a single motor (FWD) or dual motor (AWD). According to the NEDC bicycle, its electric-only range can be up to 139 kilometers. If this figure is found to be close even under Indian conditions, it could become a strong contender in the SUV hybrid segment.
Interior and Features
Talking about the interior, the International model gets a 15.6-inch large touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver display.
Also features such as panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, 12-speaker Sony sound system, powered and ventilated front seats and automatic climate control.
Safety features such as 360-degree camera, level-2 ADAS, Hill Start and Hill Decent Assist. It is likely that all these features are also included in the India-Spec model.

Price and competition
Jishjan Jindal, chairman of JSW Group, has clarified that the company wants to play in the price bracket of Rs 15 to 30 lakh. At this price this SUV can challenge trains like Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari. Plug-in hybrid technology and modern features can give it a different identity in this segment.
Launch
JSW Motors plans to introduce this SUV in India by Diwali 2026. However, the launch timeline may shift slightly due to the delay in import approval of Chinese components. If everything went according to plan, by the end of 2026, JSW’s first SUV could be seen on Indian roads.
