Delhi School Closure Update: Along with Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR is currently experiencing a severe cold wave. The recent rains in Delhi-NCR have also led to a drop in temperature. Due to the cold weather, children are experiencing significant difficulties attending school. To ensure children’s safety, the Delhi government has decided to extend school holidays until January 15th.

This order applies to students from Nursery to Class 8. Regular classes will resume on January 16th. The Delhi government has advised schools to continue online classes during the winter break, if possible, to ensure that children’s studies are not interrupted. The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has announced that, to protect children from health problems and travel difficulties caused by cold and dense fog, winter holidays for students from Nursery to Class 8 will continue until January 15, 2026.

Students from Classes 9 to 12 will continue their studies offline. This rule applies only to students from Nursery to Class 8. Several schools in Delhi have informed parents that regular classes will resume on January 16th.

Delhi Primary exam schedule changed

The examination schedule for primary classes has also been changed. Exams for Classes 2 to 5 will now be held between January 19th and January 21st, 2026. The Meteorological Department has warned that fog and cold conditions may persist in Delhi for the next few days, which could make commuting difficult for school buses and private vehicles.
