In the first match of the series, India produced a brilliant performance at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, defeating the South African team led by Aiden Markram by 101 runs. In that match, the Indian batsmen and bowlers, led by Suryakumar Yadav, dominated the match. However, in the second T20 in Mullanpur, the visiting team made a strong comeback, defeating India by 51 runs to level the series 1-1.

The team management may make a major change in the batting lineup. Sanju Samson could be given a chance in place of Shubman Gill, who is struggling with poor form. Gill hasn’t scored a single fifty in his last 14 innings. He didn’t open his account in the second T20I. Despite consistent opportunities, Shubman Gill has failed to make an impact in T20Is.
