Following a groundbreaking integration between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), passport holders can now view their Passport Verification Record (PVR) directly on DigiLocker. This significant move will reduce reliance on physical documents and expand the set of government records available in digital form. MeitY explained that this new feature allows citizens to securely access, store, share, and digitally verify PVRs within the DigiLocker ecosystem, making the entire process paperless and contactless.
How to access the Passport Verification Record
Once police verification for a passport is completed, the passport verification record will automatically be updated in the individual’s DigiLocker account. Users can easily access it from the ‘Issued Documents’ section. There’s no need to submit a separate request or application. Once the verification is completed by the issuing system, the document will automatically appear. You can access this PVR through either the DigiLocker mobile app or the DigiLocker web portal.
