While getting a driving license or passport verification, you suddenly see that your father’s name or husband’s name (C/O) is missing from your Aadhaar card! Many people panic in such a situation. This problem is especially common in those who have recently linked their mobile number or changed their address.
But there is no need to worry, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a special method to solve this problem. Now there is no need to go to any Aadhaar center and stand in line, you can solve this problem from home by using the reference of the ‘Head of Family’ (HOF) or the head of the family.
What is a Family Head or HOF-based update?
Earlier, Aadhaar could be updated only with the address proof in your name. But under the new rules, even if you do not have any document of your own, you can still update the address and C/O section in your card based on the Aadhaar card and consent of the head of the family (father, mother or husband). Through this process, the address in the Aadhaar of the head of the family will be included in the applicant’s card. However, for this, it is mandatory to have the mobile number linked with the Aadhaar card of both the applicant and the head of the family.

Step-by-step procedure for applying
