Bank Holidays December 2025: November is about to end, and December is about to begin. Like every year, banks will be closed for several days in December. Banks will be closed on different days in many states. If you are planning to complete any critical banking work, you should check the holiday list beforehand. Some bank-related tasks require a visit, such as opening an account, depositing a check, updating a passbook, or completing loan formalities. Therefore, it’s essential to check the holiday list first. This will save you from a lot of hassle.
There are 18 days in December when bank operations will be affected. However, this includes six Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays. The remaining holidays will be due to festivals in different states.
List of Holidays in December 2025
December 1 (Monday) – Banks in Arunachal Pradesh will be closed on Indigenous Faith Day.
December 3 (Wednesday) – Goa will observe a holiday on account of St. Francis Xavier’s Day.
December 12 (Friday) – Meghalaya will observe a holiday on account of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma Day.
December 18 (Thursday) – Chhattisgarh and Meghalaya will observe a holiday on account of Guru Ghasidas Jayanti and U Soso Tham’s death anniversary.
December 19 (Friday) – Goa will observe a holiday on account of Goa Liberation Day.
December 24 (Wednesday) – Banks in Meghalaya and Mizoram will be closed on account of Christmas Eve.
Banks will be closed in most states on December 25 (Thursday) for Christmas.
December 26 (Friday) will be observed as a holiday in Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Telangana on account of Christmas celebrations, and in Haryana on account of Martyr Udham Singh Jayanti.
Banks in Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh will be closed on December 27 (Saturday) in observance of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti.
Banks will be closed on December 30 (Tuesday) in Meghalaya for U Kiang Nangbah Day and in Sikkim for Tamu Losar.
Mizoram and Manipur will have a New Year’s Eve holiday on December 31 (Wednesday).
