Another glorious moment for Indian cricket

India defeated Nepal by seven wickets in the final of the Blind Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 to win the title. Batting first, Nepal were bowled out for just 114 runs. India then easily achieved the target in 12 overs. This was the first-ever Blind Women’s T20 World Cup, and India captured the trophy on its first attempt.

Deepika (6 runs) and Anekha Devi (2 runs) opened the innings for the Indian women’s team. However, they failed to score big. Following this, Phula Saren and Karuna K. batted strongly. Phula Saren was India’s highest scorer with an unbeaten 44. Karuna scored a total of 42 runs from 27 balls. India had no problem chasing the target and scored comfortably. None of the Nepali bowlers were able to make an impact.

India, bowling first, restricted Nepal to 114 for five. Nepal’s players struggled to score runs in the match. India’s dominance was so strong that Nepal managed only one boundary in their innings. Nepal defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the semi-finals, while India defeated a strong Australia by nine wickets in the semi-finals.

Co-hosts Sri Lanka won just one of their five preliminary rounds (against the United States). Pakistan’s B3 (partially blind) player Mehreen Ali was the most successful batsman in the six-team tournament. She scored over 600 runs, including a 78-ball 230 against Sri Lanka. She also scored 133 against Australia.
