Vande Bharat Sleeper: A major update has emerged regarding the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has confirmed that this luxury sleeper train will be launched next month, in December. Passengers have been eagerly awaiting the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. Now, it seems that their dream of comfortable, fast, and high-tech train travel is about to come true. According to a report, Ashwini Vaishnav stated that some minor issues were discovered during testing of the first Vande Bharat Sleeper train rake.
Therefore, some changes have been ordered for the bogies, seats, and passenger amenities. Work on all these improvements is now progressing rapidly. The Railway Minister stated that while the changes may be small, they are being taken very seriously, as our goal is to ensure a comfortable journey for passengers. He also stated that this train will be a wonderful train for generations to come, so that nothing will be rushed.
BEML, which manufactures the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains, has confirmed that the prototype rake has been returned to them for retrofitting. The train underwent several rounds of testing and trials under the supervision of the RDSO and the Commissioner of Railway Safety. According to a BEML official, since it is a prototype, it is natural that it will undergo extensive testing on all safety and comfort parameters.
When will the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train be launched?
Emphasising passenger safety and convenience, the Railway Minister stated that he doesn’t believe in shortcuts and aims to create a better product for future generations. However, when asked about the train’s route and launch date, the Railway Minister said, “We will launch the train in December.”
The Railways maintains that there will be no compromise on safety and comfort. This is why the entire train is being redesigned, even with minor changes. Passengers are eagerly awaiting its launch. Once the train is launched, long-distance travel will become more comfortable and safer than ever before.
What changes are being made to the train?
The emergency alarm button is being moved from the upper berth to a location where passengers can easily press it.
The AC duct is being relocated to a better location.
Special cables and arc fault detection devices are to be installed for fire prevention.
Fire-resistant cables are to be installed for CCTV.
Third-party inspections of European safety standards (EN 45545 and EN 15227) are to be conducted.
