Tata Motors has teased the electric version of the all-new Sierra, which is set to hit Indian roads on November 25, 2025. But the question is: will this new electric Sierra live up to expectations? Design
When you first see the Tata Sierra Electric, your eyes will be drawn. Its design is unique and futuristic. The front of the car features a completely sealed fascia, which indicates its electric status. The grille-free nose features a continuous LED daylight running strip that runs right down the hood. Split headlamps, a blacked-out bumper section, and a prominent silver skid plate further enhance the car’s appearance. Features like flush door handles, alloy wheel design, squarish wheel arches, and black body cladding give it a premium look. At the rear, a wide LED light bar, a boxy tailgate, and an integrated spoiler complete the car’s design.

Interior and Technology
The Tata Sierra Electric’s interior will amaze you. It features a triple-screen layout that includes a 12.3-inch fully digital driver display, a central touchscreen infotainment unit, and a passenger-side information screen. The dashboard features layered surfaces, soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and upscale upholstery. Features like a multifunction steering wheel with an illuminated logo, an auto-dimming IRVM, and adjustable headrests are also available. A large panoramic sunroof is reminiscent of the classic Sierra’s trademark glass panel. Overall, the interior is a perfect blend of luxury and technology.
Performance and Range
The Tata Sierra Electric shares its underpinnings with the Harrier EV and is expected to come with two battery pack options. The version with the larger battery pack is expected to deliver a real-world range of over 500 km. This range is quite impressive considering Indian roads and driving conditions. One of the biggest concerns with electric vehicles is their long-distance capabilities, but the Sierra Electric seems to address this concern. It’s perfect for daily commutes in the city, but long highway journeys are also easy to handle.
ICE Version
The ICE version of the Tata Sierra is equally impressive. It will be powered by Tata’s all-new 1.5-liter turbo petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is expected to produce around 168 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, and will be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options. The ICE version’s design is slightly different from the electric version – it features a black grille and chunkier detailing, giving it a muscular stance. Tata has made every effort to distinguish both versions so that customers can choose according to their preferences.

Pricing and Positioning
The Tata Sierra is positioned above the Curve and below the Harrier in the company’s SUV lineup. Pricing is expected to fall in the premium segment, but the exact price has not yet been announced. The electric version will compete with other premium electric SUVs coming to India, while the ICE version will compete with cars in the mid-size SUV segment. Tata is focused on positioning this car as a premium product that delivers excellence in quality, features, and performance.
