Aadhaar Card : Nowadays, the Aadhaar card has become the most essential document for every Indian. It’s required for everything from government schemes to bank accounts, mobile SIM cards, school admissions, and any official work. The unique 12-digit number is issued for a lifetime, but sometimes people forget to keep it safe or the card gets lost.

If this has happened to you, there’s no need to worry. Now, even without your Aadhaar card number, you can download your e-Aadhaar card from the comfort of your home. So, let’s tell you today how you can download a new Aadhaar card from the comfort of your home if you’ve lost it and don’t remember its number.

Aadhaar can be downloaded even without a number

If you lose your Aadhaar card and do not remember the number, then first of all go to the UIDAI website to download a new Aadhaar.

After this, click on Retrieve Lost or Forgotten UID/EID in the My Aadhaar section.

Now you have to enter your name, date of birth and registered mobile number or email and then enter the captcha code.

After this you will get an OTP, verify it.

After verifying the OTP, your Aadhaar details will be visible on the screen.

Also, your Aadhaar card will be sent to you through SMS or email.

This facility is absolutely free.

If your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, you will need to visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center. There, you will need to provide the 28-digit enrollment ID number that you received on the Aadhaar registration slip. Biometric verification will then be performed. Upon completion, you will be provided with an e-Aadhaar. This service costs approximately Rs 30.

Aadhaar can also be ordered through PVC

UIDAI is now offering people the option to order a PVC Aadhaar card. This card resembles an ATM or debit card and can be easily stored in a wallet. To do this, visit the UIDAI website, enter your Aadhaar number, and verify the OTP. Then, click on the “Order Aadhaar PVC Card” option. After depositing Rs 50 online, your order will be processed. UIDAI prints the card and hands it over to the Indian Postal Department within five days. The Aadhaar card is then delivered to your home via speed post.
