The government has enacted the rule to link PAN and Aadhaar cards for two main reasons: to eliminate duplicate PAN cards. This is intended to prevent tax evasion. Once linked to Aadhaar, your identity is verified with a unique ID. This increases transparency.

Easy Process to Link PAN and Aadhaar

First, visit the e-filing website https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/.

Afterward, click on the Link Aadhaar option below the homepage.

Now, enter your 10-digit PAN number and 12-digit Aadhaar number.

Follow the on-screen instructions and pay the required fee of ₹1,000.

After payment, click Submit. This will complete your linking request.

How to Check Aadhaar-PAN Link Status

First, visit the website.

Then click on Link Aadhaar Status.

Then enter your PAN and Aadhaar numbers.

Upon submission, the status will appear on the screen. After this, you will know whether your PAN is linked to Aadhaar or not.
