New Delhi: The Railways has taken another major step to alleviate passenger problems. You won’t need to visit the enquiry counter to find out where your train is. This means you can check the train’s current status in just a few seconds using your mobile phone. Now, passengers won’t have to jostle or stand in queues at the enquiry counter.
Passengers can access information about trains running within the next four hours by scanning a code. Passengers can access this information through a QR code. Keeping passenger convenience in mind, the Railways has affixed QR codes at holding areas, gates, ticket counters, and key locations within the station premises.
Updates from the QR code
You will receive the train information as soon as you scan the QR code. CPRO of North Eastern Railway, Pankaj Kumar Singh, has provided important information. He explained that this feature has been developed for convenience in view of the increased passenger traffic following Diwali and Chhath. In this regard, the Railway administration has developed a QR code.
These signs have been pasted at various locations and in the holding areas of Gorakhpur Junction. Scanning them will provide complete information about trains departing from Gorakhpur Junction station within four hours. This significant decision has been taken for rail passengers.
All facilities are available at stations.
Work is underway to update the QR code rail. Additionally, for the comfort of passengers’ journeys, the railway administration has already established passenger holding areas at Gorakhpur, Banaras, Ballia, Chhapra, and Siwan stations on the North Eastern Railway.
For passenger convenience, train display boards, mobile charging points, coolers and fans, purified drinking water, help booths, mobile UTS app, and seating arrangements for railway personnel have been made.
Help booths have been established to provide assistance and suggestions to railway passengers. They are staffed 24 hours a day with railway personnel. Furthermore, platforms for trains have been pre-determined to ensure improved passenger amenities, keeping safety and security in mind.
