Many important features related to Aadhaar cards are set to change completely starting November 1, 2025. There will no longer be the need to stand in long lines or repeatedly visit Aadhaar service centers. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made significant changes to Aadhaar card regulations, making updating Aadhaar easier, faster, and more secure than ever before. Let’s learn about these changes.
Previously, you had to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra to make any changes to your name, address, date of birth, or mobile number. However, starting November 1st, this entire process can be completed online. UIDAI has developed a new system in which your provided information will automatically be verified against government databases, such as those provided through your PAN card, passport, driver’s license, or ration card. This will make the Aadhaar update process even more secure and faster.
This is going to be the new structure
- Fee for updating name, address or mobile number: Rs 75
- Fingerprint, Iris or Photo Update: Rs 125
- Biometric update free for children aged 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years
- Online document update is free till June 14, 2026, after which a fee of Rs 75 will be charged at the centre.
- 40 rupees for Aadhaar reprint
- Home Enrolment Service: Rs 700 for the first person, Rs 350 for each additional person at the same address
UIDAI has also clarified that every PAN card holder must link their PAN with Aadhaar by December 31, 2025. If you fail to do so, your PAN will become inactive from January 1, 2026. This will prevent you from filing tax returns or using your PAN for any transactions.
Complete KYC easily
It’s now incredibly easy to complete KYC at banks and financial institutions. You can complete KYC through three methods: Aadhaar OTP verification, video KYC, or face-to-face verification. This makes the KYC process completely paperless and time-saving.
