Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2025: Dev Uthani Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) of the month of Kartik. On this day, Lord Narayana and Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, are worshipped. If the puja is performed according to the prescribed rituals, all sins are absolved. A fast is also observed on this day.
However, if some Tulsi-related measures are taken on Dev Uthani Ekadashi, wealth increases, and Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings are also bestowed. Therefore, today we are going to tell you about some Tulsi remedies for Dev Uthani Ekadashi that will help alleviate financial hardships and bring prosperity into your life.
When is Dev Uthani Ekadashi?
According to the Vedic calendar, Dev Uthani Ekadashi will be celebrated on November 1st. The next day, on the Dwadashi Tithi, Tulsi Vivah takes place. It is believed that Lord Vishnu awakens from his four-month yogic sleep on Dev Uthani Ekadashi. After this, all auspicious ceremonies begin.
Offer Tulsi leaves along with the offerings on Devuthani Ekadashi
On Devuthani Ekadashi, offerings should be made to Lord Vishnu, and Tulsi leaves should be included in the offerings. It is believed that even the Lord himself will not accept the offerings without Tulsi leaves. If this remedy is followed, Lord Narayana will be pleased and fulfil every wish.
However, one thing should be kept in mind: Tulsi leaves should not be plucked on Devuthani Ekadashi, as Mother Tulsi observes a fast on this day. Therefore, plucking Tulsi leaves breaks her fast, and for this reason, Tulsi leaves should be plucked a day in advance and stored safely.
Lakshmi Comes to the Home
On Devuthani Ekadashi, one should perform the ritualistic worship in the morning and recite the fast story. Afterwards, light a ghee lamp near the Tulsi plant while chanting mantras. One should circumambulate the Tulsi plant 5 or 7 times. It is believed that following this remedy will bring Goddess Lakshmi to the home.
It is also believed that worshipping Tulsi on Devuthani Ekadashi is very auspicious because Goddess Lakshmi is believed to reside there. Chanting the Tulsi mantra during Tulsi worship on Ekadashi also bestows the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.
