DA Hike: Lakhs of employees in Uttar Pradesh will benefit. The Yogi government has increased their dearness allowance by eight percent. The Finance Department has also issued an order on Friday for the employees receiving the benefits of the Fifth and Sixth Pay Commission. According to the government order, the dearness allowance of the employees receiving the benefits of the 5th Pay Commission has been increased by 8 percent.

Now the employees will get 474 percent dearness allowance, increased from 466 percent. The dearness allowance of the employees receiving the benefits of the 6th Pay Commission has been increased by five percent. Till now, these employees were getting 252 percent dearness allowance, which has now increased to 257 percent. The employees will get the benefit of the increased dearness allowance from July 1, 2025. The Finance Department also issued an order on Friday to increase the dearness allowance of All India Service employees and officers posted in the state.

Ten days ago, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced an increase in dearness allowance for 28 lakh employees and pensioners in the state. According to the Chief Minister’s decision, all eligible 16.35 lakh employees and 11.52 lakh pensioners and family pensioners will receive dearness allowance and dearness relief at the rate of 58 percent instead of 55 percent from July 1, 2025. Announcing the increase, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the state government is fully committed to the interests of its employees and pensioners.

Providing them relief from the effects of inflation and improving their standard of living is our top priority. He said that this decision symbolizes compassion and respect for the millions of employees and pensioners of the state. Chief Minister Yogi also directed that the increased dearness allowance and relief be paid in cash from October 2025. This decision, taken in the larger interest, will impose an additional expenditure burden of Rs 1960 crore on the state government by March 2026.

How many crores will the expenditure burden on the government increase?

In case the dearness allowance and dearness relief are paid in cash from the month of October, 2025, the expenditure will be Rs. 161 crore and Rs. 84 crore respectively in November, 2025. On payment of arrears of dearness allowance and dearness relief from the month of July to September, 2025, there will be an additional cash expenditure of Rs. 298 crore and Rs. 252 crore respectively in the month of November, 2025.

Thus, a total additional cash expenditure of Rs. 795 crore will be incurred in the month of November, 2025. Rs. 185 crore will be deposited in the GPF of the employees covered under OPS, thereafter an additional expenditure of Rs. 245 crore will be incurred every month from the month of December, 2025.
