Engine
The Kawasaki KLX 230 brings the same mechanical setup as its imported version. It has an air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine, which generates 19 hp power and 19 Nm torque. This engine is connected to a 6-speed return-shift gearbox, which gives great riding experience with smooth gear transition.

The bike’s perimeter high-tensile steel frame makes it rugged and stable, making it a spectacular perform on all types of terrain whether it is mountain trails or mud-filled trails.
Suspension
However the KLX 230 has a forward 37 mm telescopic fork and a rear Uni-Trak suspension setup. It offers 220 mm and 223 mm wheel travel respectively, which helps to easily withstand tremors during off-roading.
The bike gets 290 mm front disc brake (dual-piston caliper) and 230 mm rear disc (single-piston caliper) for braking. This setup is not only robust, but gives the rider reliable stopping power in every position.
Design
Also, the KLX 230 weighs just 139 kg, making it lighter and easier to handle. Its 255 mm ground clearance and 880 mm seat height make it suitable for every type of rider. The bike’s dual-purpose tyres (2.75–21 front and 4.10–18 rear) give it a great grip on both the highway and the trail.

Kawasaki made this big price cut after GST 2.0 came into force. Previously the KLX 230 was a complete imported model, due to which it cost significantly more. But ever since Kawasaki started its local production (local construction) in India, its price has seen a steady decrease.

Where earlier this bike cost ₹3.30 lakhs. In August 2025, the company launched its locally manufactured version, reducing the price to ₹1.99 lakhs. Now after GST 2.0 is implemented, its price has come down to ₹1.84 lakhs (ex-showroom). That is, a price reduction of around 44.24% overall.
