Bihar Elections: The nomination process for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections has begun. All political parties have begun working tirelessly to perform well in the elections. Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj Party has released its first list of candidates, surpassing the NDA and the Grand Alliance. However, the seat-sharing arrangement within the alliance is still being debated.

The NDA’s seat-sharing formula may be finalised today. Speculation is rife that the NDA may release its first list of candidates on October 13th. Meetings continued throughout the day on Saturday at the BJP National President JP Nadda’s residence.

When may the BJP release its first list?

The BJP is expected to release its first list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections tomorrow, Monday. Yesterday, meetings of NDA allies were held. Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha met separately. Furthermore, a meeting of the BJP core committee was also held. This meeting deliberated extensively on the names of candidates for the first phase.

According to a report, discussions were underway regarding candidates for approximately 90 to 100 seats in Bihar. After the core committee meeting, the finalisation of candidates is expected at the Central Election Committee meeting.

Sources indicate that the BJP is expected to release its first list on October 13th. Sunday is expected to be a crucial day for the NDA. Allies are expected to hold a press conference today to announce seat-sharing arrangements.

How many seats will Owaisi contest?

Asaduddin Owaisi’s party, AIMIM, is also set to announce its candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. Owaisi stated that his party will contest approximately 100 seats this time. Previously, in the 2020 Assembly elections, the party fielded candidates in 20 seats.

Not only this, it won five seats in Seemanchal. For your information, nominations for the first phase of 121 seats in Bihar began on Friday. The nomination process for the first phase will continue till 17 November 2025.
