Seat-sharing negotiations between the NDA and Grand Alliance are currently pending. A final decision on seat-sharing between the two alliances can only be made after the seat-sharing agreement is finalised.

The NDA will field Nitish Kumar, while the Grand Alliance will field Tejashwi Yadav. In the 2020 Assembly elections, the RJD emerged as the number one party, winning 76 seats. JDU, which was in power for five years, was in third position.
