Yamaha India has expanded its presence in the hybrid commuter motorcycle segment with the FZ-X Hybrid, launching in the Indian market in July 2025. Its ex-showroom price in Delhi is ₹1.50 lakh. The FZ-X Hybrid is very similar to the recently launched FZ-S Hybrid, but features improved fuel-saving technology and additional features. This new technology will not only improve mileage but also make the riding experience smoother than before.

Technology and Features
The FZ-X Hybrid features the same key upgrades as the FZ-S Hybrid, giving it a unique position in the market. This includes ISG technology, which enables a silent start. This means the bike will start without any noise. It features Start/Stop technology that automatically shuts down the engine when stopped in traffic and restarts immediately upon throttle, improving fuel efficiency. The FZ-X Hybrid features a 4.2-inch color TFT display, with modified switchgear to control additional dash functions. This feature distinguishes it from the standard FZ-X.
Engine and Performance
Yamaha has focused more on fuel efficiency than performance in the FZ-X Hybrid. The FZ-X Hybrid features the same 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as other FZ models. This engine produces 12.4 horsepower (hp) and 13.3 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Purpose of the Hybrid System
The hybrid system in Yamaha’s 150cc commuter motorcycles is designed not to enhance performance, but to improve fuel efficiency. Therefore, the power output of the hybrid version remains the same as the non-hybrid version.
Design and Weight

The FZ-X Hybrid’s design and key specifications are similar to the standard FZ-X, but the hybrid technology has resulted in a slight weight change. The hybrid variant weighs 141 kg, 2 kg more than the standard version. This additional weight is due to the hybrid system and battery components. The bike is available in a single, attractive shade – matte green and gold, with wheels that Yamaha calls Matte Titan. This color combination gives it a premium and attractive look.
Price
The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is priced at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This price is approximately ₹20,000 more than the standard FZ-X and ₹5,000 more than the FZ-S Hybrid, which justifies the advanced technology and additional features. The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is a great package of style, technology, and mileage, all set to carve its own niche in the premium commuter segment.
