New Delhi: The Vande Bharat Express has been running across the country for quite some time, but now the government is considering another major gift. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express train is set to launch soon. The first Vande Bharat Sleeper train will run between Delhi and Patna. This will make the journey from Patna to Delhi much easier.
Travel will be time-saving and convenient. Indian Railways may launch this train before Diwali, or Dhanteras, which will reduce the journey from Delhi to Patna. Fares are likely to be slightly higher than other express trains. The ticket schedule has not yet been released. Learn below why the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be special for passengers.
Reach Patna from Delhi in less time.
The journey from Delhi to Patna can be completed in just 11:30 hours. According to a report, the train will depart from Patna at 8:00 pm and reach Delhi station by 7:30 am. Travel by other trains takes approximately 21 to 22 hours. This train also includes berths and modern amenities in the sleeper version.
Most importantly, passengers will enjoy automatic doors, CCTV cameras, LED screens, and an aeroplane-like interior. Ticket prices will be higher than those of the Rajdhani Express, but the bus will be cheaper than the flight.
When could the launch be?
Indian Railways has not yet officially announced a launch date. However, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express could be launched before Diwali. According to some media reports, it could operate any time after October 15th.
How much could the ticket cost?
Tickets for the new Vande Bharat Sleeper Express are expected to be higher than those for the Rajdhani Express. It is believed that this train could cost 10 to 1 per cent more. The higher ticket price is attributed to the numerous amenities. The Vande Bharat Sleeper will feature a ship-like interior, modern security systems, sensor-based automatic doors, and LED infotainment screens. CCTV facilities are also included.
