Aadhaar Card- The central government has taken a major decision regarding Aadhaar cards. There will now be no fee for new registrations or biometric updates for children and adolescents. Currently, a fee of 50 rupees was charged for this facility. The new rules now cover children between the ages of 5 and 7 and 15 and 17. This will benefit a large population. It should be noted that the government had previously made biometric updates mandatory for children’s Aadhaar cards.

How to get Aadhaar biometric update done?

First, visit your nearest Aadhaar enrollment center. You can find it on the UIDAI’s official website or by using the mAadhaar mobile application. Collect a form. Obtain an Aadhaar enrollment and update form from the center and fill it out. Submit the form at the center. Also, submit your biometric data. The center operator will perform a fingerprint scan, iris scan, or both for authentication.

Biometric update is mandatory

It should be noted that the government has made it mandatory to update biometrics on children’s Aadhaar cards. Consequently, it is essential to update their Aadhaar cards. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued guidelines for this purpose. Letters have been written to all states and union territories, instructing them to complete the updates expeditiously.
