Application Process for Passport Address Update

To update your new address in your passport, first log in to the official Passport Services website.

Then, apply for a passport reissue and select “Change in existing personal information” as the reason.

The new address in the application form must accurately and completely match your address proof document.

The form can be filled out online or downloaded as a PDF, filled out manually, and then uploaded.

Next, upload a scanned copy of a valid address proof and pay the standard reissue fee.

Then schedule an appointment at your nearest passport center.

Verification and Document Delivery

On the day of your appointment, you must bring your passport’s original and self-attested copies of the first and last pages, your application receipt, your address proof, and your passport-size photo. Your biometrics will be recorded at the center, and your documents will be verified. If you have moved to a new city or state, police verification will also be required to confirm your new address. After verification and application approval, your passport with the new address will be printed and sent to your address.

You can use several types of documents to update your passport’s address. These include your Aadhaar card, voter ID, recent utility bills, a registered rent agreement, a bank statement, and a valid gas bill. It is important to ensure that the document is valid and clearly shows your new address.
