MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition: Sporty Design, 230 km Range & New Features

British automaker MG Motors has launched a new and more attractive Blackstorm Edition of its most affordable electric vehicle, the Comet EV, in the Indian market. This new edition is aimed at customers who want a more premium and sporty look. This new variant is not available in the regular Comet EV and has been specially designed.

What’s Special About the Design

The MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition comes in a striking ‘Starry Black’ color scheme, with red inserts throughout the exterior and interior. These red accents give the car a very sporty and aggressive look. This new edition also features distinctive badging, stunning wheel covers, and an exclusive accessories pack, making it distinct from the regular Comet EV. The audio system has also been upgraded, now featuring four speakers, making the music experience even better.

Powerful Battery and Powerful Motor

The MG Comet EV features a powerful 17.3 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 230 kilometers on a single full charge. This range is perfect for daily city commutes. The electric motor generates 42 horsepower and 110 Newton-meters of torque. With its power and range, this vehicle is an excellent choice for urban driving.

Pricing and Booking Information

MG has launched the Blackstorm variant of the Comet EV at an ex-showroom price of ₹7.80 lakh. You can also purchase it under the BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) scheme, under which you will pay ₹2.5 per kilometer for this new edition. This new edition can be booked online or offline by paying a token amount of ₹11,000.

The MG Comet is positioned as the country’s most affordable electric vehicle, directly competing with electric cars like the Tata Tiago EV. Furthermore, it also competes with petrol cars like the Renault Kwid, Maruti Alto K10, Wagon R, and Celerio in terms of price, making it an excellent choice for customers looking to purchase their first car.
