Suman Sakhi chatbot– In a major digital initiative, the Suman Sakhi chatbot has been launched in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, to help women address health issues like pregnancy , childbirth, and the pandemic. Based on AI technology, this chatbot will provide information on all health issues, from pregnancy to menstruation.
The Suman Sakhi chatbot is also being called the “Digital Sister” for women. This chatbot will be available 24 hours a day in Hindi, especially for women in rural and remote areas. Women can initiate a conversation with this chatbot by sending a WhatsApp message to 9770905942. Simply typing “Hello” or “I want to ask a question” on this number will bring up the chatbot menu, which will provide information on pregnancy testing, danger signs, newborn care, period-related problems, and the nearest health center.
Why is Suman Sakhi chatbot special?
The Suman Sakhi chatbot is the country’s first state-level AI chatbot focused on women’s health and nutrition. Through it, women will receive instant information about government schemes, family planning, and vaccination services. The unique feature of this chatbot is its complete confidentiality, allowing women to share their concerns without hesitation.
Initiatives of NHM and MPSeDC
The Suman Sakhi chatbot was jointly developed by the National Health Mission and the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation. Initially, it will be implemented in select districts and then gradually expanded across the state. Launching the chatbot, PM Modi stated that it will help reduce maternal and infant mortality and increase access to health services. He also transferred funds to the accounts of over 1 million women across the country with a single click under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and distributed sickle cell anemia cards.
