Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: The central government is running a scheme for pregnant women and lactating women. The name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). Through this scheme, financial assistance is given to women so that they can access nutritious food. The last date to register for this is 15 August 2025.

The government is running a door-to-door awareness and enrollment campaign through Anganwadi and Asha workers, so that pregnant and lactating women can be reached. Under this scheme, Rs 5000 is provided by the government when women become pregnant for the first time. On the other hand, if a woman gives birth to a daughter for the second time, then Rs 6000 is given. This money is used for a nutritious diet for the mother and child.

Rs 5000 is given when a woman becomes pregnant for the first time. The first 3000 rupees are given at the time of registration of pregnancy. The second installment of 2000 rupees is given on registering the birth of the child. If a daughter is born in the second pregnancy, then the government gives 6000 rupees. This money is sent to the Aadhaar-linked bank or post office account of the beneficiaries.
Which women get the benefit
The minimum age of the pregnant woman should be 19 years. At the same time, the annual income of the family should be less than 8 lakhs. If the woman has an MNREGA card or she is getting the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, then you are eligible for this scheme. Women who have an e-shram card, or a BPL card, or are Divyangjan can apply for this scheme.
How to apply online in Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
- You have to go to the official website to apply online.
- You have to sign up by going here.
- After this, click on Beneficiary Registration.
- The form will open as soon as you click.
- You will have to tell whether you are applying for the first child or the second child.
- After this, fill in the name, address, Aadhaar number, date of birth, age, etc.
- You will also have to provide the information of the MNREGA card number, after which all the information related to the child will have to be entered.
- You will be asked about the complete address of the house and vaccination during pregnancy, and after the birth of the child, etc.
- Fill in the information of the Anganwadi near you and click on Submit.
- Now submit the application form.
How to apply offline in Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

For this, women can go to the nearest Anganwadi center and apply for the PMMVY scheme.
For registration, Form 1-A has to be filled out and submitted along with the necessary documents.
While registering, the woman will also have to provide her Aadhaar number and bank account information.

So many women are getting the benefit
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, more than 4 crore women of the country get the benefit of at least one installment. The government has so far distributed an amount of Rs 19,028 crore. This scheme is being run under the sub-scheme ‘Samarthya’ of Mission Shakti.
