The accused has been identified as Tyler Robinson. The accused is a resident of Utah. It is believed that his father has handed him over to the police. The governor of Utah said that Robinson acted alone, although the investigation is ongoing.
The initial evidence that the police got after the murder of Charlie Kirk included the accused’s palm prints, shoe soles and a rifle found in the forest. However, even after this, the police were empty handed. However, a person close to Robinson informed the police about him. During the investigation, the police also found Robinson’s friend, to whom Robinson had sent an online message after Charlie’s murder. Police said that Robinson had sent messages to one of his friends on the Discord platform after the murder of Charlie Kirk.
In those messages, Robinson told that he wrapped a rifle in a towel and threw it in the forest. Based on this message, the case against Robinson became strong. Robinson has no criminal history. Robinson is currently lodged in the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork and has not yet been formally charged. According to media reports, Utah Governor Spencer Cox said that the police recovered bullets along with the rifle of the accused Tyler Robinson. The box in which the cartridges were kept had lines from the Italian folk song ‘O Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao’ written on it. This is an anti-fascist song which is sung as a symbol of revolution.
FBI officials said that they are trying to find out why Robinson killed Charlie. The night before Charlie’s murder, while having dinner with the family, Robinson had discussed Charlie’s program. During interrogation, it was revealed that Robinson disliked Charlie and was strongly against Charlie’s conservative thinking. However, he was not politically active and had not even participated in voting in recent times. Robinson’s parents are supporters of the Republican Party.
